Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of a 20 nm resolution Ion column from FEI Thermo Fisher as a sole source because of the uniqueness (design, capability, nature) of the goods and the goods being compatible with existing equipment. Column must have coil winding of thousands of loops on a low magnetic permanence core. The coil lens then has to behave symmetrically so as not to distort the image. Must be compatible with existing Thermo Fisher Ion column. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010.
