The purpose for this synopsis is to conduct market research to help identify capable, potential sources and to establish if this requirement can be set-aside for small business or other socio-economic programs.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to procure the supply of laboratory animals (Mice) for the research department at the VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) for one year period. The tasks requested include the following:
Contractor shall deliver products on a regular basis, as ordered. Contractor shall provide exactly the types, brands and amounts of animals as ordered, with no substitutions. Quantities ordered per week shall vary based on current needs. Contractor shall deliver animals on date specified on the order. Contractor shall deliver animals within one day of order in emergency situations.
The COR or Animal Facility Supervisor shall inspect the delivered items upon arrival, to make sure that the delivered items are exactly those ordered, with no damaged items or compromised packaging, and with no substitutions. The COR or Animal Facility Supervisor shall compare order dates to delivery dates to ensure that delivery was made in a timely manner.
Orders shall be placed on an as-needed basis. Contractor shall deliver within one week of routine orders, and within one day of orders placed in emergency situations.
