Navigation Lock Unwatering Pumps Rebuild Requirements

Drawings:

Attachment 1: Navlock Unwatering Assembly Prelim drawing is for general pump overview and

if for information only.

Attachment 2: As-built drawing, DDN-20928-69-15, is only for reference. All dimensions are to

be pulled from the NL Unwatering Pump Assembly and NAVLOCK UNWATERING PUMP

ASSEMBLY - TYPICAL FLANGE drawing.

Attachment 3: NL Unwatering Pump Assembly hand sketch drawing provides assembly

dimensions and layout.

Attachment 4: NAVLOCK UNWATERING PUMP ASSEMBLY - TYPICAL FLANGE drawing provides

the layout and dimensions for to match bolt patterns for pump and discharge casing flange.

The Contractor shall field verify all measurements and layout prior to starting fabrication.

All provided quantities below are per pump. There are two pumps. Contractor to provide material for

two pump systems as described.

1. Pump shaft

a. Refer to Attachment 3 NL Unwater Pump Assembly Drawing for dimensions.

b. Refer to DDN-20928-69-15 for overall layout.

c. Material: 416 SS and pump shaft quality.

d. Three sections per pump @ 9’-11 ¾.

e. 2-7/16" x 9' 1-3/4" Headshaft: One section per pump @ 9’-1 ¾ . Contractor to provide

shaft adjusting nut that matches thread pitch for the Jump Coupling on the 2 7/16 side

of the shaft. Government will cut threads and keyway on motor adjustment end.

f. Thread length is to accommodate 2-3/16" Standard Shaft Couplings.

g. Acceptable runout: 2 Thou per foot

2. Casing

a. 18" x 9' 11-3/4" Flanged Columns Coated OD & ID

b. Refer to Attachment 4 NAVLOCK UNWATERING PUMP ASSEMBLY - TYPICAL FLANGE

drawing for layout and dimensions for to match bolt patterns for pump and discharge

casing flange.

c. 3 sections per pump @ 9’-11 ¾,

d. Material: Steel meeting pump industry standards.

e. Coating is the be epoxy to prevent erosion and corrosion. Coating to be applied inside

and outside.

3. Shaft couplers

a. Refer to Attachment 3 NL Unwater Pump Assembly Drawing for sketch of location on

assembly.

b. Three 2-3/16" Standard Shaft Couplings

c. One 2-3/16" x 2-7/16" Jump Coupling (aka Reducer

Coupler)

d. Match shaft threads

4. Bearing Retainer (aka Spiders) with rubber bearing insert, Open Line Shaft

a. Sandwiched between casing sections as shown in example Figure 1.

b. Complete bearing assembly including rubber bearing and keepers.

c. Material: Bearing Retainer is to be Bronze; the rubber bearing is to have properties like

Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR)
