DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIREMENT:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking to obtain information on companies for a construction project to remediate various telecom rooms (TRs) for fire suppression.
Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, furnish labor and materials, and perform work for installation of fire suppression systems in telecom rooms as identified by and required by the drawings and specifications.
The contractor s superintendent will be required to be timely adjudicated and pass background checks to receive a PIV card to access the TRs. Access will only be allowed with the superintendent present once this is achieved. Access in advance will be limited to only when an escort by the Contracting Officer s Representative is available. The superintendent, once authorized, must be present at all times when work is ongoing in the TRs and no other person, even if credentialed, will be authorized as an alternate escort for the contractor or subcontractor(s).
There are five (5) TRs included at this time in the project, and they must be remediated one at a time due to the access requirements outlined above.
The current estimated magnitude of the project, IAW FAR 36.204 is between $250,000 and $500,000.
Again, this is not a request for proposals, quotes or a solicitation of any form and is for market research purposes only.
