The purpose of this acquisition is to provide scion and cone collection services for the 2024-2025 season. The base requirement is to collect Ponderosa Pine scion, install Sugar pine Conelet bags, and collect Sugar pinecones. Scion collection to occur at predetermined locations on the Medford District and the Sugar Pine bagging and collection at the Sprague Seed Orchard, Merlin OR. Option items may be exercised when it becomes apparent that a viable crop exists for a given species and location. Option collections to occur at the Tyrell Seed Orchard, Lorane OR and all potential field locations across the BLM¿s Roseburg and Medford Districts. Quantities are estimated and there are likely more line item options listed than will be exercised. Because we cannot know if a cone crop will be viable until cones are ripe enough to cut and test, options have been included to maximize the likelihood that field collection opportunities will be available. Specific collection requirements for seed zone and elevation will be provided at prework. Vendors are required to quote on all items listed in the schedule. This Purchase Order requires identification of seed trees, collection of healthy, mature cones by species, and documentation in compliance with specifications, clauses and provisions. Timeliness in meeting the requirements of this contract is vital due to potential loss of seed from over mature cones.
