The Indian Health Service, Portland Area Office intends to award one (1) firm fixed price purchase order for a brand name - Optos Ultra-widefield fundus imaging camera, Model: Daytona P200T to a single source, Melling Medical in pursuant to FAR subpart 13.106-1(b)(i).

The Chemawa Indian Health Center, Western Oregon Service Unit requires a color imaging optometry system that can take a 200-degree image in a single capture and Optos, Inc. is the only company that manufactures this type of system. The color imaging optometry system focused on enhanced imaging for diagnosis and tracking of retinal disease state for Diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration and more.

The Portland Area Indian Health Service complies with the Buy Indian Act as well. This rule supplements the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The only known source available that can complete the contract requirement is Melling Medical. Melling Medical is the only authorized distributor for all Optos, Inc. products and Optos, Inc. does not sell directly to the Federal Government.

The NAICS code is 339112 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. No solicitation document exists for this requirement. No responses to the notice of intent to single source are anticipated.
